What should I do with my interior boat floor? - boat floor mats

I bought a 26 foot Pearson sailboat and I give that personal touch. Here is a picture:

Excuse the mess, but the photo was taken before cleaning. I'm still working on the idea of the word. Carpet? Tile Fake? Wooden tiles? Wood, carpet? Ideas and links to them would be greatly appreciated.

I try to feel a bit old, but chic. IE and stained dark brown leather upholstery is in progress.
